People judge us by the path they’ve seen us walk before. They can’t anticipate our future steps. We, ourselves, look to how things have been, what seems to be the lay of the land, without realizing that the maps are not the territory.

Want to succeed at work? Then don’t try to do your job. Instead, work towards something larger, more meaningful, and something that blends your convictions internally with your best ability to help others externally.

Want to create something new? Then throw away the old, or maybe join two disparate old things together into something new. The newest creations often come from two old maps stuck together.

Want to feel confident? Then forgive yourself every footstep you’ve ever taken until the one still attached to the bottom of your foot and start now. Today. Day one. Focus on your next steps, not the ones you missed.

Bravery and courage don’t come from following some guide. Be where you are, truly where you are at this moment, and see the real territory around you and take stock. And with that reality, even if it’s a painful one, throw away your maps and walk your own path.

Diamorphine, or heroin, as it is more commonly known, is the deadliest and most destructive of the twenty most widely used recreational drugs. It is the most destructive both in terms of the physical harm it causes and the potential for addiction. Most methods of heroin drug detoxification utilize either the 12-Step Program, widely accepted by recovering alcoholics, chemical analogues or antagonists that compete with the drug for opiate binding sites. These antagonists do not induce the same sense of euphoria as the addictive substance but they do bypass the unpleasant withdrawal symptoms that cause so many attempts at detox to fail.

Methods

Two unconventional methods of detoxifying from diamorphine will be discussed. One, called DIY or do-it-yourself cold turkey, is a carefully planned approach to cutting yourself off from drug use that does not involve going to family counseling or checking into a drug treatment facility. At the other extreme is instant detox, using a combination of drugs that are injected while the patient is under a general anesthetic. This method is reported to wipe the body clean of the drug in as little as twenty minutes. The patient is then prescribed oral naltrexone for a year afterward.

Instant Detox

Instant detoxification was first used by an Austrian doctor in 1988. He injected addicts with naloxone, the intravenous version of oral naltrexone, an opiate blocker. Using naloxone only, the patients suffered intense pain and other distressing symptoms from withdrawal of the opiate. He began giving them a sedative to make them more comfortable. Using this procedure, complete detox was accomplished in a matter of days, rather than weeks.

Cold Turkey

At the other end of the spectrum lies DIY cold turkey. Cold turkey is a term meaning the abrupt stoppage of a drug rather than gradually taking smaller and smaller doses or using drug antagonists. DIY involves careful planning if it is to succeed.

The Plan

Instead of waking up one morning and deciding today is the day to stop using heroin, the individual is advised to plan ahead and set aside a two-week period during which to stop taking the drug. Building up a small nest egg to use for intermittent rewards during the detoxification process is strongly encouraged to help succeed. The family is sent on vacation and friends are asked not to stop by or telephone during the detox period.

Where To Stay

These two weeks should be spent somewhere the individual feels comfortable. Some place they can be surrounded by their own possessions would be ideal, a place where they can chill out and do what they please. The first few days will be hell and it is important that they have pleasant ways to pass the time between bouts of depression, insomnia, chills, shivers and severe muscle cramps. If their own home won't work, the home of a parent, friend or sibling will do.

Rewards

Break the interval into tiny, manageable milestones and reward each one by reading a good book, watching a DVD or ordering a pizza. Within two weeks, maybe less, the body will have been purged of the drug and you are on your way to a drug-free, productive life.

As we know Google is trying to bring best search results with wide range of algorithms and the most popular panda update does a lot to meet user’s experience. In some cases, even now we see n number of scrapper sites and search manipulation sites in web search. Google is still fighting to get all these sites dumped.

What Google hates?

1. Serving different results for search engines and users.
2. Content copied from different sites.
3. Buying paid links to manipulate site ranking.
4. Keyword stuffing in content and HTML tags.
5. Hiding keywords using style sheet.
6. Too many JavaScript pop-ups in a page.
7. Slow loading sites.
8. Low server response sites.
9. Duplicate URLs and sites that don’t use canonical URL tags.
10. Dynamic sites that doesn’t use parameter handling.
11. Pages that have high bounce rate.
12. Tags that doesn’t meet body content.
13. Low average time spent on each page.
14. Non-search engine friendly URLs
15. Images that are not optimized which results in slow loading pages.
16. Interlinking with your own hosted domains.
17. Getting traffic from Spyware or through running some sort of scripts.
18. Links to spammer sites and bad neighborhood sites.
19. Having same content in your domain and sub domains.
20. Pages that installs Badware.
21. Affiliate program with no unique or relevant content.
22. Too many reciprocal links with irrelevant content sites or reciprocating links with bad neighborhood sites.
23. Misspelled words to get higher ranking in search results.

If you find any of these Google hates (Black hat SEO techniques) in your site or your friend’s site, take immediate steps to resolve or the site will get banned at any time or will be flagged as spam in search. If the site got banned for not following Google guidelines, take immediate measures by analyzing the above mentioned points and fix accordingly. Once you're are sure that you follow the Google guidelines then you can use the Google index reconsideration form.

For someone who is about to start up their own business, whether online or not, this is an essential question to ask.

When you sell a product or service you need someone to make a purchase so you can make money. The most important principle in business is that there are two different types of people involved in your business; customers and clients.

While both of these may appear at first to be the same they are critically different and concentrating on one over the other can be the difference between success and failure.

This concept, what I call the Customer, I teach to clients in order for them to focus on building relationships that last.

The difference between a customer and a client is repeat business.

For every link you exchange, promotion you run and ad you place to attract customers to your business or website there is a cost involved. It can be something as simple as your time, but the cost reduces your profit immediately.

For every .00 someone spends an initial customer will cost you something; regardless of whether that cost is .15, .25 or .50. With a customer you never get your full .

A client, in comparison, is a returning customer to your business and can cost you nothing. They may purchase something because of a promotion, but clients are the most likely to return to your business because of their positive first experience or because you have a value proposition (like Daily Blog Tips) very few others do. In the online world clients are what attract advertisers and build your email list. Clients are highly targeted high value customers.

Very few businesses can survive on customers alone; a successful business needs to concentrate on turning any and all customers into a client.

High value clients are also the most likely to refer your business to a friend or acquaintance providing you with another customer and prospective client.

Email lists are the best way to stay engaged with your clients as you can inform them of promotions, new products or services and announcements related to your business. A customer is a one-time transaction or visit with no loyalty; a client is someone whose repeat business can be forecasted, expected and maintained over a long period of time.

Are you paying enough attention to your customers and turning them into clients?

Considering the idea of going to a residential prescription drug addiction rehab clinic can be a hard choice for many people. It can also be confusing for some individuals, since there are often a number of different programs, facilities and methods to choose from these days. Even so, many find that this type of approach can be the ideal way to get back on track again, so that they're better able to fight their addiction in general.

A Hard Fight

Although it can be difficult for people to fight a number of addictions, prescribed medication addictions can often be harder to recognize. Since they're also more easily and legally accessible, this can make it even more difficult in the end. Oftentimes, this can be due to the ease that people can get to what they're addicted to. This can usually be achieved with very little consequence as a result, aside from their health and mental well-being.

Easier Access

Oftentimes, the difficulty that people have when it comes to working on their addiction with prescription-based medication, along with it being so legally accessible, is the fact there are fewer things to stop them. Granted, the person prescribing such medications may often limit their patient on how often they can get a new one but it's not always possible for professionals to recognize when a situation may be headed in the wrong direction for someone. In the end, it's up to the individual, their willingness to accept their addiction, as well their ability to fight against it.

A Good Fit

Although there are several types of programs available, it's important to make sure that you choose something you can feel comfortable with. If you don't feel comfortable or pleased with the approach that you choose to use then you may not have the ideal results. Either way, many find that there are flexible options, depending on what one might prefer in general.

Choose A Center

Although there are various types of programs that you can select from, many people tend to prefer treatment centers in particular. This is usually due to the types of treatment they provide versus other options. Generally, this might include either individual or group care, while some facilities may offer both. It's good to see what type of facility will appeal to you the most.

Different Approaches

At times, programs offer different approaches in the way they treat people. For example, some programs may offer incentive or focus that's based around religion or other factors, which may appeal to some people. Treatment centers offer psychological help, which many individuals find to be useful. This is because it can help them to see into their problems more effectively.

The Right Tools

Many individuals find that they can gain the most success when they're able to gain the right drug detoxification tools to be able to do so on their own. This generally involves being able to dig deep into their own mindset so they're able to assess their life, choices, and behavior more effectively. This is because many addictions tend to be based around such factors.

Jacq and I just watched Adele Live At The Royal Albert Hall (amazon affiliate link), and though every song was just wonderfully done, I found myself fascinated by what Adele was doing in between each song. Because even though most people would be interested in hearing her belt out her amazing repertoire of hits, what I took away from the performance was Adele’s real magical ability: the ability to resonate with her audience.

What Adele Could Teach You About Impact

I’m writing something about this right now for my upcoming book with Julien Smith, but I had to share some of the ideas with you, because it relates very well to another piece of the puzzle for my series about building your platform. So, what was it that I saw?

Adele knew how to relate to people on their level. She talked about what it’s like to go out with friends when you’re the sober one, and your drunk friends get you into trouble. She talked about how breakups can be such drama-filled experiences (after all, both her albums are odes to her exes). She talked about the excitement she felt for playing the Royal Albert Hall, and when she did this, she talked about it the way you would talk about it, if you were chatting with your friends. It felt real, and very very much like she just wanted to share everything about what she was feeling.

Some Practice for Resonating like Adele

When you address people in your writing, on stage, in a video or audio, never ever say “you guys.” Talk to one person: someone who matters a great deal to you, and who you’d like to share something important with at that moment.

Share your emotions. When you’re nervous, say so. When you’re excited, say so. Many emotions that we’re told to keep to ourselves make for a better connection that bridges the gap between people.

Find what will connect you to others. It’s almost always an oddity. I talk about my love of Batman, or I’ll mention something that happens to most of us that you thought had only happened to you. What does it do? It immediately brings us closer.

Always Treasure Your Opportunity

I’ve heard people say “my community” quite often and every time I hear it, I scrunch my face up and feel a bit sad. I’d much rather they say “the community I have the fortune to serve.” Why? Because we never own community. It’s a gift. And even if we are the supposed “leader” of such a tribe, it’s always clear and obvious that we are there in service of the people who have chosen to share their attention with us.

This starts no matter where you are in the world of platform building. If you have two people who think you’re worth their time, then humbly treasure their kindness. Learn always to heap the praise onto them. You will never win an award that wasn’t brought to you (even partially) by the people who give you their attention. Never ever let yourself feel it’s the other way around. You’re lucky to be part of their world, and you serve them.

Celebrate the Similarities

I think what got me so excited about Adele’s between-song performances was that she did such a great job of talking about the day to day that we all might have in common. Sure, very few of us have chauffeured limousines waiting for us outside our workplace, and that’s why Adele doesn’t talk as much about that part. Instead, she talks about what it’s like when you and your best friend have a falling out and how hard it is to rectify those issues, even though the original pains are probably long forgotten.

See how that works?

This is every bit as important to learn now, as you’re developing your platform, as at any other point in the journey. So, even if you’re not a fan of Adele’s music (I am!), I recommend checking out this performance, and seeing how she handles it. There’s a lot there. Rumor has it she’s done okay by herself, and I’m betting it’s not just her voice that got her there.

So many bloggers put tons of time and effort into getting more traffic – but perhaps that sounds like trying way too hard. Your ideas are so awesome, your personality so strong, that readers will just come to you.

I’m going to give you ten straightforward ways to make sure the whole world knows you’re not going to pander to your readers. (Oh, and if you would like to have a few more readers – try doing the opposite of everything on this list.)

1. Give Your Post the First Title You Come Up With

You’re in a hurry, right? So your post will do just fine with the first title that pops into your head. Sure, that title might not be descriptive or engaging – but hey, you’re not worried about enticing people to click through and read your post.

2. Write Whatever Comes Into Your Head

Instead of sifting through some great ideas or coming up with a plan, just write whatever comes into your head. What you had for breakfast, that cute thing your cat did, your favorite rant about the goverment … put it all in.

3. Write Long, Dense Paragraphs

Subheadings, lists and bold text are for the weak. If someone really wants your content, they’ll manage to get through those long blocks of grey text that you’ve written.

4. Use Formal Language

You were probably taught about writing in school: why not simply apply all those rules to blogging? Write in a dry, academic way, with plenty of long words, and you’ll be certain that your posts are worth an A (even though no-one’s reading).

5. Make Your Blog All About You

It’s your blog, so make it about you. Every example you give should be drawn from your own experience. Don’t bother phrasing talking to the reader as “you” – instead, use “I” as often as you can. [link to my post on you & I]

6. Don’t Edit or Proof-Read

No-one cares about good writing online, do they? Don’t bother re-reading what you’ve written: those typos won’t matter. And if your general point is a bit vague and unclear, perhaps that’s for the best…

7. Never Link to Old Posts

All your (three) readers have been with you from day one, so don’t link back to old posts: they’ll already have read them. New readers can just use that handy “Archives” page that’s definitely on your blog somewhere.

8. Don’t Promote Your Post

If you build it, they will come. Don’t bother tweeting your post or mentioning it on Facebook: you need that space to moan about the long line at the grocery store and that weird guy on the bus.

9. Post Erratically

Sometimes you’re filled with the desire to create – and sometimes not. Post whever the muse descends, even if that means twenty posts in a week followed by nothing for two months. Your real fans will stick with you … won’t they?

10. Plaster Your Blog With Ads

You don’t actually care about the readers: you’re into blogging for the money. And you’re pretty sure that the best way to monetize is to shove as many ads onto your site as possible, so that the actual content almost vanishes.

Marketing, writing, networking and the likes are things we all do and see others do every day, and also with the amount of information online touching these subjects it becomes extremely easy for us to do them. For example, we all see the process of marketing, writing and networking most bloggers follow; we see exactly what they do and how they do it, and some of them are even kind enough to go to the extent of documenting their process for us. But the question is, have you ever wondered how a particular blogger is able to do everything he does and still have a life? Most of us find it difficult to understand how superstar bloggers create time for everything they do without sacrificing what really matters; their life, their relationships and their families.

I have good news for you! This article will be focused on helping you be more productive as a blogger.

Step #1. Have a Home Office

Having a home office is one of the cool things that just happened to me and the experience has been exhilarating. It has been a great experience and I find myself not wanting to leave the office anymore these days. I spend an average of around 12 hours daily in my office, yet I still don’t want to leave it at the end of the day. Why? I’ve found a place more conducive and fun for my working. No disturbances or distractions, I can create my own space and give it my own look and feel. The same thing can work wonders for you.

You might believe there is no need to spend additional money creating a home office “just for your blogging”, but you’ll be surprised. You need to start taking your blogging serious if you want it to take you serious, and that means you also have to keep investing more effort into making your environment the perfect place for you.

You will be at least 5 times more productive in a place without distractions than you will be in a place filled with distractions so make sure you have an office, or at least a room, dedicated just for your blogging.

Step #2. Create a Schedule

The next step to follow is to create a schedule for both your home office and blogging.

Make sure you have a fixed time to go to the office, and a plan on how to use that time. Don’t ever spend less, or more, than your appointed time in your home office or you will end up losing motivation. It might be tempting to keep working till 8PM when you initially planned to be closing at 5PM, but the reality is that, while it might be fun at first, you will end up burning out and all your efforts will have been wasted.

Make sure you have a strict schedule to follow and ensure you only use your time for what you planned to use it for.

Step #3. Set Goals, and Reward Yourself for Achieving them

Most of us just go through life setting goals, achieving them and repeating the same cycle over and over again. The reality is that you can only take so much of that, and sooner than later you will end up giving up. A solution to this is to create plans to reward yourself for every goal you achieve, and no, that reward shouldn’t be the product of your goal. In other words, if you plan to get an additional 10,000 visitors to your blog in a particular month by publishing 25 guest posts on top blogs in your niche, the reward of sticking to that goal shouldn’t be the 10,000 additional visitors…it should be something else totally unrelated to your goals. It could be giving yourself a day off, or treating yourself to a cruise or whatever else you find pleasing. Make sure your reward isn’t something that kills your passion, but something that makes you happier and determined to do more.

Step #4. Create Constant Changes, that can be Felt and Grasped

This is one particular lesson I’m starting to come to terms with lately. If you studied how human beings work you will notice that one of the best ways to motivate them to give their best is to employ constant, creative change. In other words, while you might have heard about the latest techniques that work really well to make people act better and work better, the reality is that that approach will only last for so long, as is with everything in life. There is only one solution, though; always work on creating changes. Make sure your working environment is always new, make sure your passion for working is always renewed and make sure your rewards for getting things done are constantly changed.

Getting used to the same version of one thing at the same time will soon wear you off, so introduce some changes every once in a while. It could be rearranging the furniture in your office, it could be repainting it, it could be adding music to it and it could be implementing the mundane in ways you’ve never seen. Make your working space feel different and your drive to work will come alive again!

When someone is suffering with an addiction to alcohol, it is not easy for them to talk to just anyone about their feelings. Getting alcohol counseling from someone trained to help people get sober and stay sober is important. Many alcoholics have feelings of guilt and shame that can cause them to be depressed. While they may recognize a need for change, they do not always know how to deal with the struggles they face.

The Professionals

Trained counselors have the expertise necessary for guiding individuals to and through the process of recovery. These professionals are non-judgmental and genuinely want their clients to succeed. There are several options for individuals who are ready for help. The counselor listens to the alcoholic without being critical and makes every effort to help the person find the process that works best for them.

The Evaluation

On the client’s first visit, he or she will meet with the substance abuse counselor to complete an assessment and evaluation. In order to develop an appropriate treatment plan, the professional must gather personal and family history information, medical history, and relationship history. The counselor takes the time to get to know the individual and to find out what prompted them to seek help.

The Plan

The trained professional will develop a case plan based on the information gathered during the assessment. Because there are a number of approaches the professional can use, it is important to gather as much information about the client as possible. With any type of addiction there are issues that will need to be identified and addressed so that the individual can overcome the addiction.

Confidentiality

To help the client feel comfortable and trusting, the counselor holds to the strictest confidentiality rules. Every person must feel confident that what they say in a session stays between them and the professional. Confidentiality is the key to developing a trusted relationship between client and counselor. If a person does not feel safe they will not successfully deal with their issues.

The Root Of The Problem

A skilled counselor can provide the tools to assist the individual to stop drinking and learn alternative coping skills. There are many problems the alcoholic will face that are the direct result of excessive drinking. Counselors help the individual gain control of life so they can live alcohol free. In addition, counselors help clients develop their goals and objectives that will give them confidence as they accomplish them.

The Decision

It is important to be sure to contact a skilled alcohol rehab counselor as soon as you are ready for help. The decision to make certain changes in your daily life to get sober is just the first step in the process. When you understand what triggers drinking, the counselor will be able to teach alternative and appropriate skills for coping that will help prevent a relapse.
